New Magazine - Creative Cardmaking

Practical Publishing, the home of Scrapbook Magazine, Simply Cards & Papercrafts and Papercraft Essentials have produced a new magazine called Creative Cardmaking.

The magazine will only be available from craft shops rather than a newsagents (or seemingly subscription), and each issue will have £5 worth of free gifts, including paper, rub-ons and stickers. In the sample copy we were given, the papers were stapled to the inside of the magazine and had a slightly shiny finish and texture, the designs were nice, but we were not sure about the finish on the paper. Die-cuts were included but there were no stickers or rub-ons in this issue. It is difficult to say if these items would be worth £5.

The magazine contains cardmaking projects which seemed to be of good quality and ideas, but were sponsored by craft retailers - good thing or bad thing?

The cover price of the magazine is £3.99. In these days of doom and gloom it is encouraging to see the launch of a new crafting magazine.

It is unfortunately official that Daisy D's is now closing and here is the notification. We had known for sometime that they had stopped producing new ranges, but now they are to close for good in June 2009.

New Books Coming Soon - Joy of Cardmaking, Collectors Edition

We have been on the look out for new releases and found........

The Joy of Cardmaking is due to be published on 3rd October 2008. This will be the third edition in the series and is a collectors edition. Brought to you from the editors of Paper Crafts magazine, the Joy of Cardmaking contains more than 90 of their favourite "recipies" for creating cards.

There are several variations on each design and you can adapt as you please with your own embellishments. This well illustrated book also contains ideas for tags, envelopes and gift tags, plus some other projects.

A very useful resourse.
